Blossomfield is a private house in Tanworth-in Arden. Designed by Architect, Tim Bailey, of Bailey Design Ltd. in Tamworth, works began on the house in late 2011 alongside contractor, MJS Construction. The project saw this collaboration of professionals replace the existing house which originally lay in front of the new building footprint.
Synergy Building Design Limited were appointed to undertake the structural design of the property. In order to successfully execute Tim Bailey’s design, the first part of the process adopted traditional trench fill footings for the foundation solution.
Following the implementation of the house foundations, the ground, first and second floors were constructed using a precast concrete beam and block flooring system.
The ground floor walls were then created with cavity masonry, comprising of external brickwork and a concrete blockwork inner skin.
Above the first floor, the inner brickwork skin continued and the façade created was made using a bespoke Oak frame solution, designed by Border Oak Ltd.
Finally, a solution was required for the internal landings which lead to the extraordinary entrance hall. This area needed to be carefully engineered to ensure it was structurally sound, whilst maintaining the beautiful aesthetic value. An extensive steelworks solution was devised by Synergy Building Design Limited to form the internal landings to the impressively complex hall area.
Following the successful collaboration of professions, the client received a seamless service end to end. The end result saw the architect’s idea brought to life and Synergy’s structural design solutions ensured a successful completion.
